The eldest of the eight children of Avery Henry and Emma Rebecca (Dunn) Chapman, Henry was married to Alice Maud Moxon on Sept. 18, 1921 in Leedey, OK were they were farmers. After the birth of their third child, they moved to Waukomis where he was a driver for the Home Oil and Gas Company. Three more children were born to them there. After retirement, Henry began to do yard care and continued this work for many years. He and his wife were members of the Church of God.

Preceded in death by his wife in 1986 and two infant children, Floyd and Fern, Mr. Chapman was survived by his children: Elmo, Lavern, Vernon and Velma.

Funeral services were held at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Chapel in Waukomis officiated by Danny Marney and Gordon Epps. Burial was at the Waukomis Cemetery.
