Elizabeth Louise Nester was born October 4, 1929, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Mae (McSwiggen) Nester. She was united in marriage to Warren W. Wilson Jr. on October 6, 1951.
Faith, family and the importance of education were the paramount values that governed Betty's life. A graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in 1947, Betty later went on to obtain a B.A. in Elementary Education, a Masters of Art and a Masters of Art certification as a Reading Clinician from Marycrest College while raising her five children.
