Virginia Bardwell, 94, died Thursday, October 5, 2000, at Heritage Care Center in Paris.

Private memorial services will be held under the direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Lee Scudder and Laura May Womack; her husband, C.B. 'Shorty' Bardwell; a daughter, Marilyn Virginia Bardwell in 1936.

She is survived by a daughter, Dr. Jill Bardwell of Plano; a nephew, Bill Scudder and family; and Ruby Brown, her caregiver for the last 13 years.

She received Bachelors and Masters degrees from Texas A&M University-Commerce and was known and loved by a multitude of students to whom she taught business courses at both Blossom and Prairie High Schools.

She also served as superintendent of the school in Pattonville, taught in Chillicothe, and taught adult education at Paris Junior College before retiring in 1973.

She was an avid bridge player for many years, a generous and loving friend to so many, and a most devoted, supportive, and loving mother.

She also was unsurpassed in her knitting, culinary and typing abilities.

Those who knew her well were truly blessed and enriched.

Virginia Bardwell, 94, died Thursday, October 5, 2000, at Heritage Care Center in Paris.
