QUINNEY RITES SET WEDNESDAY

COLORADO CITY ~~ Funeral for James Floyd Quinney will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the First Methodist Church in Colorado City. Rev. J.E. Shewbert will officiate, assisted by E.A. Reed, pastor of the church. Burial will be in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker and Son.

Quinney who was 57 Saturday, is a veteran of World War I and received a Purple Heart. Quinney was a member of the famed Rainbow Division and buddies from that Division living in Colorado City, Sweetwater and Big Spring will act as pallbearers.

The Quinney family moved to Colorado City about 1914, and Floyd Quinney married Winnie Vaughn June 7, 1922 in Colorado City. He was born at Ennis in 1895.

He is survived by his wife; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Quinney of Compton, California; a daughter, Mrs. H.L. Crout of Canton, New Jersey; five brothers, J.L. and W.R. Quinney of Compton, California, Claude and Bird Quinney of Grass Valley, California and Gilbert Quinney of Pecos; four sisters, Mrs. M.E. Clark of El Paso, Mrs. Elvin Shane of Bellflower, California, Mrs. Frank Bowles and Mrs. Larry Thomas, both of Compton

Son of George E. Quinney and​ Minnie Jones Quinney.
