MARTIN V. BENTON
Martin V. Benton, 84-year-old local resident, died at his home at 15 Dawson street yesterday from what Coroner Gordon Doran termed self-inflicted wounds.
He was found in bed suffering from a wound in the abdomen said by investigating officers to have been inflicted with a .22 caliber weapon.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Lula McKinney Benton; four sons, Arnold A., Alexander, Benny F.
and Roosevelt Benton, all of Wilmington; and one daughter, Mrs Rosa Lee Cottonmen of Rockingham.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at 14 Wooster street.
