Edward L Van Sickel, supervisor of construction for several buildings in Pittsburgh's downtown area, died Saturday in Port Allegheny Hospital, McKeen Co.
Mr. Van Sickel, 80, of Smethport was in the construction, sand and gravel business for many years. He Supervised the erection of the Pittsburgh Press Building, William Penn Hotel, Duquesne Light Co. Headquarters on Sixth Ave, the Park Mansion Apartments in Oakland, and Children's Hospital.
He was a graduate of Penn State University and a member of Masonic Lodge 334 for 50 years.
Surviving are his wife, Anne Lincoln Van Sickel; A daughter, Celeste Gallup, of Gibsonia; two sons, Edward L , of Pittsburgh, and Daniel P, of Panama City, FL.; A sister, Lillian Baker, of Largo FL; 13 Grand children and one Great grand child.
Following funeral services in Bradford, burial will be held at 4:30 pm tomorrow in the Homewood Cemetery.
