JACOB WEAVER

Born: March 7, 1760 at German Flats, Herkimer County, N.Y.
Died: March 9, 1852 in town of Rodman, Jefferson County, N.Y., aged 94 years
Married: by Domenie Rosecrantz, June 2, 1781 at Herkimer, N.Y. MARGARET BOOM
Born: April 22, 1763 in Herkimer County, N.Y.
Died: July 9, 1855 in town of Rodman, N.Y. aged 95 yrs. (g.s.)

Service: Jacob Weaver enlisted at German Flats, N.Y. at the beginning of the Revolutionary War, under Capt. Bellinger in the Militia and also under Capt. Henry Harter. His duty was to guard property and protect the inhabitants while laboring, from the Indians who were continually "Making Incursions upon them." Also did scouting duty. In 1784-1785 he is found fighting with the Indians at which time they burned German Flats.

Remarks: Jacob Weaver and his wife are buried in Rural Cemetery in the village of Adams, Jefferson County, N.Y. The dates of birth and death were taken from the family Bible owned by their son, John Weaver.
