Obituary. Viola Thorne Beers, 75, died June 14, 1984, at American Fork, Utah. She was born on Aug. 21, 1908, in Lindon, the daughter of Vernee D. and Stella Sundberg Thorne. She married Leland W. Beers on April 8, 1931, in Salt Lake City.


She was educated in Pleasant Grove schools and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. She attended business college in Salt Lake City.


She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Relief Society, and Primary and Mutual Improvement Association organizations. She was a lifetime choir member and sang in a trio with her mother and sister at weddings, funerals, and church functions for many years. She was also active in 4-H and the PTA.


She is survived by her husband of Pleasant Grove, one son; Monte D. Beers of Bixby, Okla.; one daughter Mrs. Paul (Betty) Memmott of Pleasant Grove.
