Eldon Richard Byrd 86 of Glasgow died Wednesday September 21, 2011 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren Co. he is the son of the late Fred & Eula Chapman Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a retired Auto Body Repairman in the Glasgow area for 42years.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Eugenia Byrd; a daughter Loretta Owens (John) of Glasgow; 2 grandchildren Tyra Murray (Jason) of Glasgow and Derrin Whitehead of Bowling Green; 3 step grandchildren Brenda Owens of St. Ann, MO, Patricia Scherr (George) of Poplar Bluff, MO and Melissa Owens of St. Louis, MO; 2 great grandchildren Spencer York and Cameron Murray both of Glasgow; 7 step grandchildren; a sister Marie Morgan (Jewell) of Hiseville; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Derrick Whitehead, 2 sisters Delia Riddle and Emma Garner and 2 brothers Leon and Cleon Byrd.
Funeral services will be 3:30pm Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
