Glendora M. Wakefield, 84, of Effingham, formerly of Champaign, passed away on June 15, 2012 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Effingham.
Graveside services for Glendora will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Mound Cemetery in Cowden with Pastor David McConnell officiating. There will be no local visitation services held. Services are in care of Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be left at www.hallfuneralchapel.com.
Mrs. Wakefield was born on July 2, 1927 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Claude and Volley (Shell) Allison. She married Calvin "Bud" Wakefield in Shelbyville. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2011.
Glendora worked at the Illinois Glove Factory and at St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham and was a member of the First Christian Church in Effingham.
Survivors include son; Mike (wife, Monica) Wakefield of Champaign, and sister; Barbara (husband, Buck) Lamb of Shelbyville, 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 5 sisters.
