David E. Anderson Sr., 64, of Salem, is resting in the arms of his Lord. He passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. David worked for Virginia Glass Depot for 22 years. He owned and operated Anderson Auto Repair for 12 years. He retired in 1999 due to health issues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and William Anderson; sisters, Nancy Vaught and Judy Goodman; a granddaughter, Valerie Fore; and his wives, Brenda Trail and Carolyn Anderson. Those left to cherish is memory are his wife, Peggy Sue Anderson; sons, David E. Anderson Jr., and Jeffrey S. Anderson and his wife, Debbie; his beloved daughter, Misti Anderson; stepson, Lynn Price Jr.; grandchildren, Brandon, Christie, Jason, Emma and Heather; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Alyssa; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Alice Anderson; special friend, Kenny Wills; and his loving pet companions, Prince, Prissy, Bear and Snuggles. David will be missed by all that knew him. He will be remembered for his fun loving personality and amazing sense of humor. He had a zest for life, but because of his health issues was limited. The family wished to express their appreciation to the doctors and staff of Lewis Gale Medical Center and to Friendship Manor Health Care Center whose care and compassion helped so much in David's final days. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011, at Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Carter Sloan and the Rev. Keith Graves officiating. Interment will follow in Garst Family Cemetery, Catawba. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
