Ethel R. Acton, 91, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2005, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born December 16, 1913 in Sulphur, Oklahoma, to Ethel and William Harvey Carter. She married William Carroll 'Boots' Acton. She was a homemaker and worked occasionally as a secretary. She lived in Gans; Oklahoma City; Okmulgee; Sallisaw; Del Rio, Texas; and Little Rock, Arkansas. She was active in garden and civic clubs in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was the beloved aunt to her numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and will be remembered for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband and all of her sisters and brothers. She is survived by: her sister-in-law, Billie Carter; her niece, Carolyn Wilson; nephews, Bob and Jerry Carter; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2005, at Rose Hill Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel in Oklahoma City. Memorial donations may be made to Dwight Mission Cemetery Fund care of National Bank of Sallisaw, Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Ninde Funeral Directors, Garden Chapel.
