Pinkie Viola Armstrong Nuby was born in Lawrence County, near Wren, Alabama. Her family lived in the Bankhead Forest late 1800's where her father manage a Pencil MFG Company where Mrs. Nuby worked for her father doing odd jobs around the company. Early in 1900's they came aquained with the Nuby Family that moved to the the Wren, Alabama area becoming good friends. Soon her and two of the Armstrong sisters married three of the Nuby brothers. In 1918 the Nuby's and the Armstrong's moved to Hartselle, Alabama.

She and her husband had a small farm located on 432 Nuby Street, which they raised chickens, hogs, cows, and raised row crops.

Mrs. Nuby was a member of Hartselle First Church of God for a number of years.

Mrs. Nuby died June 24, 1983 in Hohenwald, Tn at age of 89.
