Violet Benson, 83, Three Springs, died Saturday morning, September 13, 2008, at her home in Clay Township, Huntingdon County. Born February 20, 1925, in Clay Township, she was the daughter of the late Chloe Watkins. She was married to Edgar H. Benson on December 12, 1942. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2005. Surviving are four sons: Dean Benson, Blairs Mills; Eddie Benson, Three Springs; Joe Benson, Three Springs; Ted Benson, Orbisonia; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a stepsister, Flora Parsons, Shade Gap. She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Daryl Watkins. She attended Walnut Grove Church of God, RD, Three Springs. She had worked at Sagner Inc., McConnellsburg, for a number of years. She later worked at Fulton County Medical Center and at Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, PA. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Pastor Travis Mellott officiated. Interment was made in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs, PA.
