The body of Shirley Owen, 29 years old, who died at Cleveland, Mississipi, early Tuesday of injuries received while staging a Fourth of July airplane stunt Monday, will arrive in Beaumont at 7:25 tonight and will be immediately brought here in a Grammier Dismukes ambulance. Owen, son of Mrs. B.S. Granger, who resides at 3055 Sixth street, had lived in Port Arthur for a number of years and was well known here. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made. Owen's death resulted from the premature explosion of a bomb he held in his lap while flying at an altitude of 500 feet. The tragedy was witnessed by his wife and their two children, Frank Shirley, Jr., and Jaqueline. In addition to his immediate family and mother, two sisters survive. They are Mrs. F.W. Cooper of Casper, Wyoming, and Mr. F.L. Sheldon of Honolulu.

Army air service military rites will be accorded Frank Shirley Owen, 29 years old, who was killed last Monday at Cleveland, Mississippi, in attempting to perform a Fourth of July airplane stunt. Owen's body arrived at Port Arthur last night and funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Grammier-Dismukes chapel today at 3 p.m. Rev. S.S. McKinney will officiate with former army associates and friends as pallbearers. A full company of the local engineers unit will attend the funeral as will the engineer's band. Interment will be in Magnolia cemetery at Beaumont. A squadron of airplanes from the reserve officers flying corps will fly over the cemetery and drop flowers on the grave of their dead comrade. Owen, who was a master sergeant in the air service at the time of his death, will be the first aviator buried at Magnolia with military honors. Surviving are his wife, two children, Jaqueline and Frank Shirley, Jr., mother, Mrs. B.S. Granger, 3055 Sixth street, and two sisters, Mrs. F.W. Cooper of Casper, Wyoming, and Mrs. F.L. Sheldon of Honolulu.
