Obituary: Ethel M. Grimes, 106, of Fleur Heights Care Center, 4911 S.W. 19th St., died of pneumonia there Thursday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Salem United Methodist Church in Paton, with burial at Jefferson Cemetery. Mrs. Grimes was born in Lexington, Ill., and lived in Jefferson and Paton most of her life, moving to Des Moines 26 years ago. She was a retired lunchroom supervisor for the Paton school system and a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Madaline Langwith of Clive; a son, John of Fresno, Calif.; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church in Paton
