Albert J. Meyers, 74, of 712 Elizabeth Ave, died Sunday evening at home after a long illness.
He was born April 27, 1910, in Porterfield. He moved here as a child. Mr. Meyers had worked at the former Hoskin Paper Co., and for various area contractors. He was a well known area amateur boxer.
He married the former Mildred Peterson March 20, 1933, in Menominee.
Mr. Meyers was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the parish men's club and the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Friends may call at the Theilen Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A parish wake will be held at 7. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Donald Zuleger will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Six grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
