A very tragic event for a youngster not quite 2 years old. In fact, he was born in the cemetery, within the workers compound in the rear - and near the creek which forms part of the boundary of the graveyard. John was the son of one of the caretakers who lived there at the time, a tree surgeon. Another worker found him shortly after he had vanished. He was not amongst the markers which he was told not to play around. He had apparently went to play in area not surmised by anyone that he would. He had crawled under a fence and a very short time later fell into the shallow creek but couldn't escape. He was barely alive when found a short time later and died enroute to the hospital. Despite the best precautions taken by his parents nearly all the time to watch over him, in just a few minutes, this happened.
