Services for A.D. Sly, 100, of 2207 NW 40th, who died Sunday in a nursing home here following a lengthy illness, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Warren Campbell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.
Mr. Sly was born June 19, 1881, in Chicago, Ill. he moved to Oklahoma City in 1902 and married Emma E Quinlan on Nov. 17, 1904. he moved to Lawton in 1918 and operated a machine shop until 1951. Mrs. Sly died in 1970.
He was a member of the First Christian Chruch, International Order of the Odd Fellows and Order of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 82. He was pastmaster and trustee of Lawton Masonic Lodge No. 183 and was pastmaster of the Triangle Lodge No. 548. He was involved in the York Rite Masonry for over 50 years and served in chapter, council, and commandry.
Survivors include four grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
