‎ ‎ ‎ CALDWELL Services for H. Ward Hume, 78, of Wilder, route 2, who died Wednesday afternoon in a Caldwell nursing home, will be conducted at the Peckham - Dakan - Davis chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. J. D. Crego of Wilder will officiate. Interment will be at Wilder.
‎ ‎ ‎ Mr. Hume was born July 29, 1881, in Williamstown, Mo., and was reared in Missouri. He moved to Parma in 1908 and managed a general store there for several years. He was married Dec. 25, 1912, in Ravenna, Neb., to Pansy L. Vanscoy and the couple moved to a farm in the Wilder community. He was one of the first farmers to grow potatoes commercially in this area.
In addition to Mrs. Hume, he is survived by a son, Donald Hume of Wilder; a daughter, Mrs. Elaine Randall of Weiser; three brothers, Stanley of Caldwell. Rosamond of Bakersfield. Calif., and Marshall Hume of Wilder; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel McCoy of Bakersfield and Mrs. Pearl Slinker of El Cajon, Calif., five grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
