There are many uncertainties with my GGma Rebecca. Stories have been told that she was born in Poland while others have said she was born on a cattle ship coming to the US. I have yet to find any records to prove the ship. She has told the family that the birthdate listed as hers belonged to a deceased sibling. We cannot confirm or deny. She is a mistery and will remain one for a while. Her parents escaped from the former Eastern Bloc and most of the documents are gone. When they arrived in the US they changed their names. She is the daughter of Nicholai Chayim "Moses" Rotchstein and Ludwika "Sara" Szymon. She had a brother Abraham who was born in Poland before her parents came to America. There are other siblings but it is hard to keep them straight.
