Virginia Ruth McQueary, a resident of Canton, TX, was born February 9, 1925 near Green Forest, AR, a daughter of James Rufus and Minta Mae (Wright) Yeary. She passed away peacefully in her home in Canton, TX on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the age of 86 years.
Virginia was a faithful servant of her heavenly father, a loving wife for 67 years, and a wonderful mother. She was of the Assembly of God faith and taught Sunday school class for many years. She loved growing flowers, gardening, reading, sewing, putting together puzzles and was known for her cooking skills.
On November 27, 1943, Virginia was united in marriage to Alden Howard McQueary who survives her. Other survivors include their children, Gary McQueary and wife Carolyn of Canton, TX, and daughter Rebecca Flippo and husband Alan of Tyler, TX; sisters, Rita Garrett of Belton, TX and Loretta Cunningham and husband James of Seneca, MO; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, James Rufus and Minta Mae Yeary; one infant son; and two sisters, Goldie Russell and Ethel Tubb.
Visitation was held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Graveside Services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Hale Cemetery with Reverend Ray Shelton officiating.
