Gone Beyond.
The people of this city were very much surprised to learn on Wednesday morning of the death of John Commans which occurred at Staples of typhoid fever on that day. The young man was up to about ten days ago employed as night clerk at the City Hotel and, went home to rest for a few days not feeling well. The funeral occurred today, the remains being buried in Evergreen cemetery, this city:
The Staples World says: John Commans, whose illness was reported last week died yesterday morning at the home of his parents. Services will be held in the Catholic church tomorrow at 10 a.m., and the remains taken to Brainerd for burial. The deceased was a young man of sterling character and exemplary habits, scarcely 20 years of age, and he will be mourned, not only by a bereaved family, but by a large circle of friends. For he was well liked and highly respected wherever known, and his early death has cast a gloom over the entire community. (Brainerd Dispatch, 08 May 1896, p. 4, c. 7) [Contributed by A. Nelson]
