Beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend. Ian was a volunteer wildland firefighter with the Rio Fernando Valley Fire Department in Taos, NM and had been studying at the University of New Mexico (Taos) to become an EMT.

Ian was a proud volunteer member of the Rio Fernando Valley Fire Department in Taos, New Mexico. His memorial service included a full honor guard, bagpiper, and last tones...just the way he would have liked it.

Ian Bodson, age 29, was residing in Taos, New Mexico where he died December 30, 2010 in a weather related traffic accident. He attended Southeast Polk schools and graduated high school with honors from Wentworth Military Academy. A passionate history buff and travel lover, he participated in several Civil War reenactments including Gettysburg, and cherished two military history trips to Europe. Ian became a Mason at Moingona Lodge #633. He was very proud to be a volunteer with the Rio Fernando Fire Department and was attending classes to become an EMT. It is impossible to summarize a lifetime of loves and interests in these few sentences.

He is survived by his mother Deborah (John, deceased) Bodson of Altoona, brother Jason (Suzanne) Bodson and nephew Jonas of Greenville, South Carolina, grandmother Tinca Bodson of Taos, New Mexico, aunts Stephanie, Claude and Claire, cousins Joshua, Adrea, Celia, Joel, and Catharine.

Many thanks especially to his Taos family and friends, Rio Fernando Fire and Rescue, and those who have extended love and support to all of us at this difficult time.

A memorial service was held on January 2, 2011 at the Rio Fernando Firehouse in Taos, New Mexico.

Memorial gifts will be directed to Rio Fernando Volunteer Fire and Rescue, HC 71, Box 91L, Taos, NM
