Obituary for James Foley:

James Daniel Foley, 70, local farmer, died at 5:55 Saturday morning in Frement Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since last Monday. Death was caused by a coronary condition.

Born in Swanton on November 30, 1886, he was a son of Patrick and Hattie (Gingery) Foley. He has been a resident of this community for the past 35 years. He worked for Standard Oil Co. for 15 years and founded the Green Springs Oil Co. in 1929.

He was twice married first to Esta Elton, who died April 1, 1930. On December 31, 1931, he was married in Tiffin to the former Goldie Jane Neikirk, who survives.

Also surviving are sons, Delman E. of San Diego, Calif and Ira A. this village; daughers Mrs. Florence Hawkins of Waukesha, Wisc., Mrs. Frieda Sommers of Republc and Mrs. Doris Conn, at home; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a brother John, and sisters, Mrs. Ernest Bowers, Mrs. Lutie Lewis and Mrs. Tony Slananki, all of Swanton. A daugher and two grandchildren preceded him in death.

Services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Young funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Reid, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Green Springs cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale Neikirk of Republic, Robert Gin, Robert Munro, James Sommers, all of Tiffin and Conrad Harry and Maynard Young, this village
