He married Miss Zelda Newlon, of Barbour County, and joined his kinsmen here at the close of the Civil War,and remained untill he too,was laid in the Baptist Church yard,on Spruce Creek. "He was the father of the late L.D. Bartrlett,Patrick F Bartlett,Mrs. Martha(CHAS) Hickman, Mrs Celia (D.G.LAW) all of the Auburn vicinity;and Henrietta, and Loverna,who died in infancy.He and his son ,LD Bartlett were both soliders of the Civil War. The Bartletts were the corner stones of the Spruce Creek Baptist Church, and their descendants are among its pillars. pg.272
