Augustus J Noyes, of 1112 West Duval St, Jacksonville, age "about 56", "had lived in the city for sometime. he was well known as an expert mechanic". He drowned in the St Johns River on Oct 31, 1911. He was last seen alive near the Jewett coaling dock on Tuesday afternoon with a grip in his hand and stated that he was going on a river boat down to Hastings FL to a job of machinery repair work he had been called to do. A set of false teeth, the grip and his hat were found later, and taken care of nothing. Nothing more was seen of him until his dead body was raised. The cause of his death is supposed to have been purely accidental, believed that he had lost his balance. Funeral conducted by Father Newnan, church of the Immaculate Conception, and interment at St Mary's cemetery
