Devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend passed away September 6, 2011 in her home. She was born October 27, 1925 in Rushville, Indiana to the late Cleo and Ruth Jackson Emsweller.
While attending Indiana State University, she met and married the love of her life and her anchor, F. Kenneth Becker on April 29, 1945 at the First Baptist Church, Terre Haute, IN. He preceded her in death January 27, 2007.
Phyllis was a founding member of Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority; Delta Gamma Fraternity; Toastmistress; Eastern Star; SCORE Club; 12 year Republican precinct committeewoman; and 50 year member of the Riviera Club. She enjoyed socializing with her dear friends especially Friday Bridge Club which she founded. One of her favorite activities was dancing, especially with her husband at the Irvington Dance Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Kendra (Tim) Lewis and Rhonda (Dick) Feldman; granddaughters, Missy Lewis, Jill Feldman and Denise Feldman. She will be missed by all.
Friends and family will gather from 4 – 7 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011, with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011.
