In 1948, she moved with her family to Oregon, and in 1953, they moved to California. Clarice attended the University of Wisconsin, River Falls and the University of Oregon. In the 70's, her family owned and operated the North Howell Store, and also farmed in Lacomb and Stayton, Oregon. In the 80's, she worked in accounting and in banks in the Los Angeles area, including holding the position of V.P. Controller at Citizens Bank in Pasadena. Clarice was on the board for H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection. Recently, she was a Mentor for Creative Connections where she took care of developmentally disabled adults for ten years. She was also a member of the Wasco-Shafter Elks Lodge.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking and baking.
Clarice is survived by her son, Loren J. (Jim) Lederhos, Jr. and his wife, Judy; and her daughter, Carrie Patko and her husband, John; her grandchildren, Jordan Shahriary, Megan Lederhos and Heidi Lederhos. Her brothers: Dan (Carmen), Dallas (Anna), Richard (Eliza), and her sisters: Dianne (Jim) Thompson, Denise Blaisdell-Rose, Muriel (Bob) King; many nieces and nephews, and her dogs, George and Gracie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Cecilia Allee, her brother, Laverne Dale and her sister, Carol.
The family wishes to thank the kind and caring staff and volunteers of Hoffman Hospice, as their dedication and professionalism was a great source of comfort to Clarice and her loved ones.
Instead of flowers, donations can be made in Clarice's name to The American Cancer Society .
The service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 575 E. College St., Mt. Angel, Oregon on Wednesday, September 21, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery 1015 Main St., in Mt. Angel. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
