Josephine B. Ballard died in a local hospital Aug. 29. She was 78.
Mrs. Ballard was born in Saginaw, Mich., on Dec. 29, 1920, and was a resident of Cameron Park. She had been a resident of El Dorado County for the past 25 years.
She is survived by her daughters Barbara Holst of Sumner, Wash., and Nancy Hopkins of Rescue; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Ballard in 1989.
At her request, no services will be held. Interment will be at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville.
Arrangements were made by Foothill Cremation and Burial.
Remembrances may be made to Snowline Hospice of Placerville."
