He was married to Florian Alice Dana on Jan. 1, 1917 at Armour, South Dakota. She died Oct. 31, 1969. He was survived by 3 sons: Dana at Norfolk, James at Sioux Falls, South Dakota; C. R. "Bob" at Hartford, South Dakota; 3 daughters: Mrs. Serre {Mildred} Strom at Norfolk, Marjorie Hanisch at Dell Rapids, South Dakota; Mrs. Cletus {Dorothy} Spielmann at Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Harriet Hibbon at Dell Rapids, South Dakota; Mabel Culver at Vancouver, Washington.
