Stoughton- Mrs. Anna Emmes, 77, Stoughton resident since 1926, died late Monday afternoon in a Stoughton hospital after a long illness.
The former Anna Anderson, she was born in the town of Rutland. She was married to Charles Emmes on Jan. 20, 1892, and lived in the town of Rutland until the death of her husband in 1926.
Mrs. Emmes had been living with her son, Raymond since moving to Stoughton. She had worked as a practical nurse.
Surviving besides her son are a sister, Mrs. Bertha Otteson, Brooklyn, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2;30 p.m. Thursday in the Cummings funeral home. The Rev. L.Nesvig, pastor of Our Saviors Lutheran church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Rutland cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon.
