Born in Wolfsburg, PA, he was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine. They were married 55 years.During WWII , his unit liberated the Oberdruf and Buchenwald concentration camps. In 1999 he was honored by the Holocaust Museum for his part in the liberation.He served his community on the Lewisburg City Council.

Arthur S. Amick, 88, formerly of St. Paul Street, Lewisburg, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at River Woods, Lewisburg. He was born Jan. 19, 1915, in Wolfsburg. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine H. Amick. Mr. Amick was a graduate of Bedford High School, where he held the one-mile record in track for many years. Mr. Amick was employed as an agent for Paul Revere Life and AFLAC Insurance. He was a member of Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and several Masonic organizations. He served on the American Cancer Society for many years. Mr. Amick was an avid golfer and enjoyed participating in parades as a member of the Shrine Motor Corps. Surviving are two daughters, five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
