OSCAR THARP DEAD
Oscar Tharp died last Saturday in Ft. Wayne, where he had been living with his son, Earl. He was 86 years old, and a fine gentleman without an enemy. For years he lived here and when he was too old to take up regular work, he spent many hours along the banks of the streams abut here, a devoted angler and with the true angler's gentle disposition. The remains were brought to Bryan Tuesday afternoon and buried in Fountain Grove cemetery. Undertaker J. F. Kloehn, of Ft. Wayne was in charge of the funeral.
Note: The family apparently never had his death date inscribed on the large Tharp stone.
