"Died in Georgetown District, S.C. on the 9th of December, 1852, Mr. Wm. G. Lenerieux, of Dropsey of the chest, in his 68th year of his age, leaving his aged and afflicted companion and friends to mourn their loss. He was a kind neighbor and humane master - He joined the Methodist E. Church five or six weeks previous to his death. He was always favorable to Religion and as he stated on his death bed he was labouring to prepare himself for the Church and Heaven but failed in all his effort - age and infirmity pressing him. He now turns his attention to Christ and his Church for help. The preacher was sent for who administered to him the ordinances of the Church and as he was a sincere penitent his friends mourn not as those who have no hope."
