Dennis L. Talkington, 85, of Middleton, died Wednesday, November 25, 1998, at a Nampa care center. Dennis was born August 16, 1913, in Hydro, Oklahoma, a son of Willliam Harrison and Stella Taylor Talkington. He was reared and educated in Oklahoma and he married Alice Dalke on August 25, 1935 in Hydro. He farmed in Hydro and in 1951 they moved to the Middleton area where he farmed for 25 years. He worked for J.R. Simplot for several years and was a very hard worker. He enjoyed showing cattle, Horses and hogs. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Middleton.

He is survived by eight children and their spouses: Dole and Vera Talkington, Mike and Cindy Talkington, both of Middleton; Pat Hetmer and Susan Good of Nampa; Cecillia and Jim McDaniel of Caldwell; Beth and Roy Keen of Kent, WA; Gary Talkington of Battle Mountain, NV; and Tammy and Frank Cruz of Winnemucca, NV; twenty grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister and husband, Nina and Elmer Kilgore of Chicksha, OK. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, who died on July 10, 1984; a great-grandson, Christopher Fuller, who died on February 19, 1976; a son-in-law, Gene Hetmer, who died on October 9, 1992; and granddaughters Sarah Good and Becky Good.
