He was born April 24, 1914, in the town of Colburn, Adams County, the son of Alfred and Nettie (Phelps) Holmes. He married Florence Irene Hamilton March 30, 1938, in the town of Colburn.
One daughter, Shirley, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2;30 p.m. on Monday, Oct 24, at Hancock Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Gary Zacharias officiating, Burial was in Hancock Cemetery. Friends called after 4 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton-Ayars Funeral Home, Hancock.
