thank you for maintaining this memorial. Melvin Breneman was a colleague of my father. They served together in the 4th Marine Division during World War II.
Here is some biographical information for his memorial
Birth: Aug 5, 1920 - Edgar Co., Illnois
Death: Sep 5, 1999 - Terre Haute, Indiana
Son of James E. Breneman and Elizabeth Grugg Breneman.
He was retired from Ethel Visqueen Corporation, Westminster Retirement Village and Paitson Hardware.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Forth Marine Division. He took part in all four major Pacific landings: Roi-Namur, Tinian, Saipan and Iwo Jima. Following the war he continued to be in contact with his fellow Marines through the Fourth Marine Division Association.
Melvin was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, the Rosedale Masonic Lodge, The Rosedale American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War Post # 972.
