Retired AF Sergeant Dies at 50

Retired Air Force T. Sgt. Sebe Perkins Jr., 50, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in Barksdale Air Force Base Hospital following a short illness. He lived at 753 Anniston St.

A member of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, he also belonged to Lowe-McFarlane Post No. 14, American Legion, and the Yellowhouse Lodge No. 841, A & FM, Lubbock, Tex.

Funeral services will be held in Osborn Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Martin Luther Spell, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Helen Wallace Perkins of Shreveport; three brothers, George Clifton Perkins of Litroe, Thomas Perkins, serving in the U.S. Army, and William L. Perkins of Westlake; and five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Watts of Litroe, Mrs. Ethel Cunningham of Bridge City, Tex., Mrs. Clarice Graves and Mrs. Francis Butler, both of Litroe, and Mrs. Gladys Arrant of Marion.

Pallbearers will be Robert George Arrant, Bobby Lee Evans, Jerry Graves, Fred Graves, Robert Kerr Jr. and Johnny Landrem.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
