Mrs. Ida Alveretta (Burkholder) Younkin, 67, of Mill Run, died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, January 24, 1966, in her home, after an extended illness. She was born July 6, 1898, at Confluence, R. D., Somerset County, a daughter of the late James and Jennie Hartzell Burkholder, and had lived in Mill Run for approximately 20 years.

She was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service and Ladies' Aid Society of the Mill Run E.U.B. Church. She was vice president of the Tried and True Sunday School Class of the latter church, and also was a member of the Springfield Township school board until she resigned two months ago due to ill health.

Surviving are her husband, James Franklin Younkin, with whom she celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 21, 1964; two sons, Fay and Hubert of Rockwood, R. D. 3; two daughters, Mrs. Vance (Esther) Humes of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. William (Lois Jean) Hensel of Scottdale; nine grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Minerd of Somerset; two brothers, Ralph Burkholder of West Mifflin and Dan Burkholder of Poplar Grove, and a half-brother, Russell Burkholder of Mill Run, R. D. 1.

Preceded in death by her son, Eugene, who died Feb. 24, 1922.
The body will be at the Brooks funeral home at Indian Head after 7 p.m. today. The funeral service will be held there at 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Samuel Weible officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Blank. Interment will be in Imel Cemetery.
