Charles W. Atterberry, 56, of Lebanon died June 30, 2003, in Crawfordsville, Ind. He was born May 11, 1947, in Brighton, the son of Jesse and Martha Myers Atterberry. He married Betty Darlene Shumate in February. An infant daughter, Lillie Ann, preceded him in death. Mr. Atterberry was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He owned and operated a trucking company that was leased to TEI based in Missoula, Mont., and later worked with Transland Inc. in Strafford, Mo. He was a member Calvary Baptist Church in Lebanon. Survivors: wife, Betty Darlene; a son, Brent (wife, Heather) Atterberry of Culpepper, Va.; a daughter, Shonda (husband, Mike) Harland of Waynesville, Mo.; three stepsons, Steve, Gary and Darrell Collison, all of Seymour, Mo.; five brothers, James (wife, Anita), George and Claude (wife, Shelley) Atterberry, all of Greenfield, and Ernie (wife, Tammy) and Bill (wife, Linda) Atterberry; both of Jacksonville; three sisters, Judy Maberry of Springfield, Margaret (husband, Gary) Kesinger of Roodhouse and Patricia (husband, Les) Pittman of Granite City; five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were held Saturday at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Lebanon with the Rev. Russell Randolph and the Rev. Don Martin officiating. Burial was in Bukhorn Cemetery in Buckhorn, Mo.
