Sarah Kathryn (Harpole) Baldridge, 92, of Union City died 5:35 a.m. Dec. 30, 2006, at Union City Manor Nursing Home. A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date. Dilday Funeral Home in Union City is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials be made to Obion County Public Library, 1221 East Reelfoot Ave., Union City, TN 38261.

She was born March 13, 1914, in Obion County, daughter of the late Arch Woodfin and Mary Bell (Naylor) Harpole. She was the widow of Blakemore Counsell, who died in 1946. She then married Paul Baldridge, who died in 1982. She had been employed at the former Old & Third National Bank and the former Obion County General Hospital, both in Union City. She was a member of Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include four sons, James Counsell and Joe Counsell, both of Union City, Richard Counsell of Sevierville and Jerry Counsell of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Jean Russell of Union City and Marie Everhart of Flint, Mich.; and 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Virginia Donnell and Doris Harpole; and her brother, Arch Harpole.
