Sara Grace Killian Horkley, 97, passed away on Thursday December 7, 2023 at Lily and Syringa Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls.

Grace was born on August 2, 1926 in Ririe, Idaho to Jacob Lawrence Killian and Clara Belle McIlvain Killian. She had three sisters, Kathleen, Cora May and Patsy Delaine. She married the love of her life, Willard Stuart Horkley, April 4, 1946. Together they had four children, Brenda Kaye, Jay Willard, Susan Claire, and Dan Stuart. Grace was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother. She has 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great great granddaughters.

Grace was blessed with many talents which included some such as baking bread, which was always a treat a family gatherings. She also was a seamstress who make a lot of her clothing as well as for her family. She also enjoyed making quilts and lap throws, decorative pillow, etc. She was an impressive gardener, grew beautiful flowers, and vegetables which she canned for the family.

She along with her husband, Bill, enjoyed going and supporting their children, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals, and many other interests they had. One of her favorite times was when she and Bill would have their day date on Thursdays. It would usually a long ride in the car seeing different sites. She loved all God's creations. She blessed many by her kindness and giving nature.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Stolworthy, and her son, Dan (Cindy), and all her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Clara Killian, her sisters, Kathleen, Cora May, and Patsy, her husband, Bill, a son, Jay ,and a daughter, Susan Messick, a son-in-law, David E Stolworthy.

The Horkley Family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Lily and Syringa for the excellent and loving care they gave Grace. Also a thanks to Brio Hospice, Anjula, Crystal, Cassie and other staff members.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W Oak Street in Shelley. Burial will be in the Ririe Shelton Cemetery.
