Our dad, Glenn Harland Beahn went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2011, while staying with his eldest daughter on a three week visit to Ohio to see three of his daughters and with plans to visit his brother and sister in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

Dad was born in Akron, Ohio Feb 13, 1930 to Roy and Josephine Bean. He attended early schooling near White Post, Va., and then the Oakland area of southern Morgan County West Virginia and was a 1948 graduate of the institution of higher learning Berkley Springs High School. Our dad was also a proud member of the P.O.S of A. Band at Ungers Store, WV.

Dad was the "old man" in the desert, as he liked to put it, having lived in Las Vegas, NV for about 50 years where he worked as a Sheet Metal Worker in the Local Union 88. Dad enjoyed politics and was active in local politics and loved a good debate. Dad was also a lifelong member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 1763 in Las Vegas . He served as governor at the Lodge and attained the fellowship degree.

Dad is survived by his wife Carole of Las Vegas, NV and their dog Angel, his four loving daughters, Cindy Stevenson (Mickey) of Cuyahoga Falls, Oh, Glenda Hammock of Las Vegas, NV.; Patty Wineka (Rory) of Green, Oh, Holly Magner (Chuck) of Akron, Oh; their mother June Ambrose of Akron, Oh; one beloved sister, Betty Stotler and one dear brother Dale Beahn, both of Berkeley Springs, WV. Six grandchildren, Mike Stevenson, Jimmy Hammock (Vicki), Andy Hammock, Becca Wineka, Chrissy Romans (Jeff) and Stephen Wineka (Meaghann). Eight great-grandchildren, Michael and Natalie Stevenson, Lilyann Wineka, Andrew, Samuel, Shawn, Christopher Romans and Cameron Turner. Many loving nieces and nephews, who loved their Uncle Glenn dearly and his loving sister-in-laws, Julie Crane & Helen Beahn.
In addition to his parents, dad was preceded in death by Brothers Coleman Beahn and Duane Bean; and son in law Buddy Hammock.

We didn't know… it all came so fast… we tried to help him, we loved him, we prayed for him, and we cried for him, we tried to comfort him and each other. In the end, he passed away in the place he wanted to be when his time came… with us close by.
