Alla Marshall, age 68 died in Concord on March 30, 2000, after suffering a heart attack. Born in San Francisco on July 15, 1931. She devoted 40 years to the profession of homemaking. Prior to that she taught at Lockwood Child Care Center in Oakland, where she met her husband, Edward. While being a quiet person by nature, she enjoyed travel. Her most memorable trip was just after graduation from Castlemont High School (Class of 1949), when she flew to New York, Havana, San Antonio, Texas and eventually Hawaii. Additionally she used to love to paint pictures, generally of flowers and animals. Her most favorite hobby in recent years was experimenting with different pies and breads.

Edward Marshall, age 65, joined his wife in death three days later, on April 2, 2000, after a long battle with heart disease. Born in Oakland on March 19, 1935. Education was his lifelong passion. He first worked in Lockwood Child Care Center before joining the ranks of the Oakland Unified School District in the early 1960's. For the last decade he had specialized in Computer Sciences at Golden Gate Elementary School. Beyond his chosen profession, he had a deep love for music, writing, photography, ham radio, and model trains. He had been the longest continuous member of the East Bay Model Engineers Society (Richmond, Ca) until his death.

Ed and Alla are survived by their son, Robert James Marshall; daughter Jude Marshall; Ed's mother, Paula, as well as many cousins.
