LESLIE - Rockford L. McClung, 83, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Summers County Hospital in Hinton, following a long illness.
Born Sept. 16, 1917, in Marfrance, he was the son of the late Barksdale and Mattie Price McClung.
Mr. McClung was a U.S. Navy veteran, a retired coal miner, and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Drema Donna McClung; three sisters, Peachie Allen, Lucy Haynes, and Dorothy Smith; and five brothers, Dayton, Roscoe, Leonard, Charlie, and Alphus McClung.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Faye Williams McClung of Leslie; a daughter, Judy Bruce of Seattle, Wash.; a son, William L. McClung of Rogersville, Tenn.; a sister, Olive James of Orient Hill; a brother, Denvin McClung of Hebron, Ohio; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call one hour before the service Friday at the funeral home.
