LAUREL — Mary Louise Merritt
Mary Louise Merritt, 76, of Laurel, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at Memory Chapel with burial to follow at Myrick Cemetery in Jones County. Rev. Martin G. Smith will officiate.
Mrs. Merritt was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Myrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Conner C. Crawford and Berti Davis Crawford and seven siblings.
Survivors include her husband, Burl B. Merritt of the Myrick community; two sons, Buddy Merritt and wife Susan of Laurel and Greg Merritt and wife Patsy of Daphne, Ala.; two daughters, Linda Smith and husband Martin of Laurel and Leann Moore and husband Jay of Laurel; grandchildren, Roddy Merritt, Rick Merritt and wife Allison, Michael Merritt and wife Miranda, Patti Merritt, Tony Smith and wife Shannon, Danny Smith, Andrea Morrow, and Nicole Mercer Martin and husband Brian; seven great grandchildren; sister Joan McCraw of Laurel; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Roddy Merritt, Ricky Merritt, Michael Merritt, Tony Smith, Danny Smith, Josh McSwain, Dan Wooten and Jake Moncivais.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at Memory Chapel of Laurel, which is in charge of the arrangements.
