Alfred Moore Booker, 76, of Wellford, SC, died on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at his home.

Native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Samuel Morgan and Nora Edwards Booker, husband of Wilma Burger Booker.

Member of Startex Church of God where he served as an usher; retired from Startex Mills after 45 years of service; was a member of Startex Masonic Lodge #253.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, are a son, Ronnie A. Turner of Moore; a daughter, Sharon Dotson of Chattanooga; two brothers, Sammy Booker of Harker Heights, TX, and Bobby Booker of Greenville; a sister, Joyce Ellenburg of Wellford; five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Predeceased by a sister, Martha Booker Jackson.

Visitation was 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, August 14, 2006 at Stribling Funeral Home in Duncan.

Graveside services were 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at Wood Memorial Park officiated by Rev. J. H. Hammond and Rev. Ray Dotson.

Pallbearers were Ron and Tony Turner, Chris Dotson, Stewart and Leslie Jackson, and Cameron Lazar.

Memorials could made to Startex Church of God P. O. Box 330 Startex, SC 29377.
