Mr. Adamson was born Aug.5, 1898, in Onego, W.Va., and was a son of the late
William and Susan Harper Adamson. He had lived in Dayton for 55 years. He was a
retired employee of Celanese Corp. and a member of Dayton United Methodist
Church.
On Dec. 27, 1916, he married the former Opal Erma Sites, who died Nov. 8, 1959.
Surviving are eight children, Gladys Alford, at home, Gae Bennett of Grottoes,
Clyde Adamson, Violet Avery, Doris Marquess and Naomi Spencer, all of College
Park, Md., Jimmy Adamson of Rockledge, Fla., and Sites Adamson of Culpeper; a
sister, Anna Kisling of Elkins, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren;
and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg
Funeral Home by the Revs. Roy Hedrick and Earl Bateman. Burial will be in the
Dayton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 8-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
