Irene Hargroves, 66, died Wednesday (3 Apr 1999) at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Hargroves was born in Pasadena, Calif., and settled in Yakima in the early 1950s. Her home was a safe house to foster children for about 15 years.
Survivors include five children, E. Lee Hargroves of Selah, Tony Hargroves of Selah, Davie Hargroves of Mattawa, Dan of Zillah and Tammie Meyers of Rainier, Wash.; and 15 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
A graveside inurnment service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend should meet at graveside. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima, is in charge.
